66 U.S. Presidential Portraits Third Floor, Rotunda walls In November of 1978, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sullivan notified the Colorado Department of Education of their intent to donate a collection of original oil paintings by portrait artist Lawrence Williams. Entitled "Gallery of Presidents," the collection included 38 portraits of Presidents of the United States.
67* Jack Fitzpatrick Plaque Third Floor, south wall of Senate Committee Room common area Born in 1900 in La Junta, Colorado, Jack L. Fitzpatrick was a pioneer in the broadcasting business in Colorado. Mr. Fitzpatrick worked a variety of jobs until the age of 25, when he was hired as a general assignment reporter for the Pueblo Star Journal for $17.50 per week.
  Henry C. Brown Portrait Left of the Senate Gallery This portrait, painted by George Platt, honors Henry C. Brown, who, on January 11, 1868, donated ten acres of land for the Capitol site. The portrait is on loan from the Colorado Historical Society.
